There are more than 4000 different religions on this planet. Around the globe, human history has been impacted by religious ideas Each one has their own values and their own ways of worshipping. Each religion has its own ethics and values that has to be fulfilled by the people who follow it. Religion surrounds our daily lives and studying different religions will help people to understand the complexity of the world. It will also help them understand the value each community holds.

Religious practices encourage and support living clean. A research has found that religious people are less likely to seize in criminal activities, alcoholism and more of that sort of activities. Learning about the ethics from different religions also makes a person have good physical and mental health. This significantly helps them understand the world better and gain more knowledge. For example, Yoga which is spiritual way of exercise helps to keep a person fit also it helps to make their mind calm. Meditation is also an example which helps improve mental health. This helps people to focus more on what is happening around them and focus on the people around them. According to a study which was conducted in January of 2012, people who are religious have been found having high self-esteem and better psychological state compared to people who are not religious. Religious knowledge shapes a person into a good form if they gain knowledge about good things.

Gaining knowledge about different religions will make people equally respect other religions and be equally treated well. As much as good it brings when learning other religions, it also brings bad. Sometimes gaining knowledge about the ethics, beliefs and practices will make people develop obsession disorder, and depression. In this case it does not help people to understand the world in a better way. Religion is also often misused by fundamentalists.
